Competition is useful in the right circumstances. It fosters extra effort, generates excitement and encourages your best.
Whatever your position in the work world, pay attention to what your Competition is doing!
Some of your greatest ideas can come from keeping an eye on the Competition. Watch and think about what they do, both right and wrong.
Your Competition has done the work for you. Now all you need to do is design ways to do it better. Improve on what is already being offered and you seize the advantage!
Take the best of what you know about the Competition and make it your own. Then make it better!
Take your cue from others who are successful. See what they're doing to create the best resumes, give the best interviews, get the best work positions, provide the best customer service, etc.
There will always be others to challenge your own vision or creative efforts.
They can be people who don't understand what you're doing. Or they can be people who do understand - And want what you have.
Creative and successful people, people with moxie, must always "fight" to keep their position. Some "battles" are worth fighting. Others just cause trouble. Don't let "battle lines" be drawn unless the "war" is worth the "fight".
When you find yourself involved in some heavy Competition, ask yourself if:
* It's worth the "fight"
* It's "that" important
* It has real value
* The outcome will serve you and others well
If so - Be bold and aggressive! Use your moxie! And keep up your efforts.
Always be clear about what you're doing and why. Believe in your position and yourself! When you know what you're doing is the right thing to do, focus all your energy on making that difference!
Then all you'll need is integrity and your inner strengths of character to see you through.
At its core, Competition is detrimental. This means that it can be harmful to you, others and your business. Be sure it's helping you get what you desire - Without hurting anyone else.
Don't try to get ahead by yourself. And don't do anything under handed. You will regret it! Your actions will come back to haunt you, one way or another, sooner or later.
And remember we're all connected with everyone else in the long run. What you do to others, you do to yourself. If you hurt others in Competition, your victory will not feel complete.
