"The Only Way To Learn What You Can Get Is By Asking For What You Want"!

Have you heard - Hindsight is 20/20 -

Have you ever stopped and thought, "If only I had" ... (Who hasn't?!)

Workplace Moxie wants to help you learn how you can have less regrets and understand there really is "no harm in asking".

By the time you finish reading this page you'll have access to information dealing with such issues as:

*         How to ask for a raise, ask for a promotion, salary information, career advancement, writing a resume, performance evaluation, salary negotiating, interviewing skills, performance appraisal, interviewing tips, interviewing help, resume services, resume writing tips, resume writing help, career resources, learn to be assertive, resume help, career advice, job resource and MORE!

*         Deciding what you really want

*         Finding out who will give you what you want

*         Learning how to ask for what you want

Discover how successful people get what they want by knowing how to ask for it!

You have every right to at least try, and a good chance, to get what you want. If you know how.

First - Decide what you really want:

*         Enough money to meet your current expenses

*         Benefits

*         Work that includes your interests, talents and skills

*         Regular, reasonable increases

*         A position that will lead to better positions

*         Good workplace conditions

*         To balance your work life with your personal life

*         Where you work to be close to where you live

Sometimes you'll know up front what the hours, pay and benefits of a position are but more often you won't.

It's up to you to find out if a position will give you what you want. Answer your own questions before you fill out an application or submit your resume.

This means research. At your local library. On the Internet. Talking with your friends and family.

To get what you want, give others what they want!

With the information you gather, you'll be able to let employers know you know who they are and what they want. This will make them interested in meeting you. They'll want to hear more about who you are and what you have to say.

When you meet with employers for an interview, don't be rude, but do get straight to the point.

Tell employers what you have to give them. Tell them how you're going to help them further their success. Then tell them HOW you're going to do this. Use diplomacy, but let them know you know who you are and what you can do for them.

Now ask them for what you want in return.

With this confident attitude and approach, you'll be able to Ask For What You Want and increase your chances of getting it!

But - Always be prepared to work with getting what you need. It's very rare you'll get everything you want. (But as that wacky comedienne Trudy says, "It could happen"!)

When you approach employers with such a professional attitude they'll be favorably impressed. And they'll be more open and willing to agree to what you want. In so far as they can -

Employers have their own time and money schedules but - They also have ways of stretching or bending them to hire someone they really desire.

It's totally up to you to make sure you're that someone!

"Bottom line"

Decide what you really want.

Ask for what you want.

Then accept the responsibilities that go with it.
